People say you should forgive and forget. Is that really ideal? Because if you continue to do that, your partner will continue to walk all over you.
You know I'm right....
Well, forgiveness is good-I mean, Jesus recommended it. More like prescribed it. However, He also said when you are offended by a fellow believer you should talk to the person about it and try and resolve the issue even if it means calling a believer friend or some church leaders-you will notice He seems to be stressing, "Believers only."(That includes for relationships) And well...if you're in a relationship with someone who doesn't respect your feelings even after they've been shown what they're doing...then YOU will have to decide if it's worth it. If it's worth being hurt every once in awhile. If it's not feel free to quit. Don't just go shouting it's over though. Do it like you've got Christ on your insides.
But the truth is that if a relationship is categorized with one partner oppressing or showing excessive authority on the other partner, that relationship is bound to become an abusive relationship...
